Hubbard City Police hold night shooting training

Posted: Updated:
HUBBARD, Ohio -

Hubbard City Police warned residents that they may hear gunfire Thursday night.

The police department held a night shooting and off-duty training for all of the officers.

Hubbard City Police officers undergo training frequently.

This one was aimed at shooting in the dark.

"We are also including how to shoot with or how to use a flashlight. So learning how to use a flashlight isn't just simply pointing and using a flashlight," said Sgt. Christopher Moffitt.  "So we are going to show them different techniques. The difference between hand held flashlights and weapon mounted flashlights."

This session also covered off duty training. Sgt. Moffitt said carrying while off- duty is something the department encourages.

The training session took place after dark.
