An East Liverpool man has been sentenced for a deadly drunk driving accident.
Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Ashley Pike on Friday sentenced 42-year-old Jason Davis to five years in prison and suspended his driver's license for life.
Davis pleaded guilty in June to charges filed after the January 2017 traffic death of 45-year-old Mark Short, also of East Liverpool.
Davis was convicted of vehicular homicide, driving with a suspended license, and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Investigators say Davis had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he drove his car left of center on Dresden Avenue in Liverpool Township, and struck Short's Chevy Cavalier head-on.
Davis, who also injured, was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh.
