Lepore-Hagan declares state support for Campbell park improvements

Posted: Updated:
CAMPBELL, Ohio -

State Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) commended the release of $80,149 in state funds to the City of Campbell for the construction of two new bocce courts and a pavilion.

"Bocce is a time-honored tradition in the Mahoning Valley, and I am certain that this facility will become a popular destination for the people of Campbell and beyond," said Lepore-Hagan. "This funding award would not be possible without the hard work of Mayor Nick Phillips and his administration. I look forward to the impact the new bocce courts will have on Roosevelt Park and the many Campbell residents who benefit from its use."

Campbell's Roosevelt Park project is among 102 competitively awarded NatureWorks Grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Across the state, ODNR awarded more than $4.4 million to develop and improve public access to outdoor recreation facilities in Ohio.

The Ohio Controlling Board, a seven-member bipartisan commission, oversees spending by the State of Ohio and approved this release of funding.
