YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Youngstown police are investigating several accidents along the Himrod and Madison Avenue Expressways.

At around 7 am Wednesday, a YPD officer said the bridge from Himrod Avenue to Route 62 was so slippery it was nearly impossible to even stand there.

There are several crashes on the Expressway between Albert Street and South Avenue.  One of the crashes involves a Youngstown Police Cruiser where an ambulance was called.

The ramp from Himrod Avenue remained blocked by police at 7:45 am.

Just after 7 am, Austintown police called Darbyshire Drive off Kirk Road a "sheet of ice".

First responders were called earlier to a traffic accident on Route 82 in Champion Township.

A truck flipped over on the westbound bridge crossing Route 45 at around 6:30 am.

The driver got out of the truck, but a rescue squad was dispatched.

The Patrol is also investigating a crash that backed up traffic on a portion of Interstate 80.

Troopers were called to the accident between the Salt Springs Road and Girard interchanges.  As of 5:45 am, traffic was backed up to the Girard exit.

ODOT trucks are out salting highways.  One ODOT driver reported that a truck slid into the median of I-680 southbound just south of I-80.

ODOT currently has 81 crews out in northeast Ohio plowing and treating the roads.

Lisbon OSP said the roads are passable according to troopers.

State Police in Mercer County told 21 News that light snow was just starting to fall.
