Posted: Updated:
AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio -

Firefighters found two dogs inside a burning Austintown Township home.

Crews that were called out to the 500 block of Forest Hill Drive just after 11 am Wednesday say flames had already spread through the home.

No one was home at the time, but two dogs were inside.

After entering the home, a firefighter found a dog and brought it outside to administer oxygen in an attempt to revive the pet.

Another dog was found in a bedroom.

In spite of the rescue efforts, neither dog survived.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
