Warren police arrest suspect in gun beating investigation

WARREN, Ohio -

One person is hospitalized and at least one person is in jail after a man was reportedly pistol-whipped in Warren early Monday.

Officers were called to the 1100 Block of Bingham Ave. NW just before 3:30 am when a man called a dispatcher to say he had been beaten with a gun and to send an ambulance..

Using a description of a pickup truck allegedly involved in the assault, officers arrested a suspect and confiscated a gun.

Frederick Lyons Jr, 39, has been booked into the Trumbull County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital. There's no word on his name or condition.
