Three-year-old found wandering in Warren

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

Police say they're filing a report with children services after a three-year-old girl wearing a jacket, shoes and no pants was found wandering in a Warren neighborhood.

The child was found late Friday morning at the Warren Heights apartments.

No one knew who the child was and where she came from until a neighbor recognized her as the daughter of a woman she knew.

Using Facebook, the neighbor pointed out the profile of the child's mother who lived about a minute away on Peace Avenue NW.

When police located the 26-year-old mother she told them that she thought her daughter was upstairs watching a movie and didn't know the girl had left home.

The mom told officers that her daughter should know better than to go outside by herself.

After telling the mother that she could be arrested for child endangering, police sent their report to the Trumbull County Children Services Board.
