Three starving dogs found in Youngstown

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Three starving dogs found on Youngstown's South Side are now recovering at Animal Charity.

Animal Charity says one of these dogs escaped their home on Kenmore Avenue last weekend and was picked up by the Mahoning County Dog Warden. After determining what home the dog came from they found two others also emaciated.

"She could barely walk. She was so dehydrated that when we got her into the van she literally just collapsed. She came back to our facility and received some medical treatment. She is doing better. She gained about 4 lbs in 24 hours," said Mary Louk who works with the animal charity.

The Animal Charity isn't exactly sure who owns the dogs, once that is determined they will pursue animal cruelty charges.
