SHARON, Pa. -

Detectives from Sharon and Farrell are investigating the possibility that there is a connection between two shootings that occurred Tuesday night.

Sharon Police Captain Travis Martwinski tells 21 News that officers were sent to investigate a report of shots fired on the 800 block of Linden Street at around 10 pm.

Police were told that a resident had been shot during a home invasion and robbery.

The victim, a 26-year-old man whose name has not been released, was taken to Sharon Regional Hospital for treatment of wounds that police say are not life-threatening.

When 21 News was on the scene, Linden Street was blocked between Jefferson and Euclid Avenues while detectives collected shell casings.

Less than 15 minutes after the incident in Sharon, Farrell police were called to UPMC Hospital where a 21-year-old man was being treated for a gunshot wound and other serious injuries.

The victim was transferred by medical helicopter to another UMPC facility where he was last listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Captain Martwinski says neither police department has confirmed that the two incidents are related, but based on what they know they are currently investigating them as if they may be connected.
