Youngstown Safety Committee updates crime, fire calls

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The Youngstown Safety Committee met Thursday to release updated information on crime and fire calls in the city. 

Youngstown Police Chief Robin Lees says the city has had eight homicides this year, five of which have been solved. 

At this point last year, there had been five homicides in the city.  

Additionally, the Youngstown Fire Department reports they have had 1,126 calls so far this year, including medical incidents.
