OIL CITY, Pa. -

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the city of Sharon are inviting the public to review plans for work along Thorton Avenue and Forker Boulevard.

According to the release, the project aims to realign the intersection of Thorton and Forker from a Y-intersection to a T-intersection.

The plan also calls for milling and paving on Thorton between the Sharon city line and Forker Boulevard. Forker Boulevard from Thorton Avenue to Hazen Road is also part of the paving area.

Bike lanes, upgraded signs, pavement markings, and ADA curb ramps are included in the plan.

The plans for the project will be on display from April 29 until May 29, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm at the Hermitage City Building on North Hermitage Road.

The plans can also be viewed online by clicking here.

A 1.8-mile detour will be required for the project.

Work on the area is expected to begin during the 2020 construction season.
