GIRARD, Ohio -

Girard City Council met Monday to discuss introducing a tobacco 21 initiative. That initiative would ban anyone younger than 21-years-old from buying tobacco products.

Trumbull County Health Commissioner Frank Migliozzi tells 21 News he is supporting the measure and spoke to community members before tonight's council meeting.

This issue has already been discussed in other areas like Youngstown

Migliozzi plans to head to Columbus next spring on the issue and will return with information for council.
