Warren roads to be resurfaced with additional $600,000 of local funds

WARREN, Ohio -

Almost two dozen roads in Warren will be resurfaced thanks to an additional $600,000 of local funds that are part of the 2019 City Roads Program.

City council approved the appropriation of funds at their meeting Wednesday evening.

"We were very pleased. It came down to being able to fiscally manage our budget," said Mayor Doug Franklin. "And to have enough money to do some extra roads doubling above and beyond what we promised the citizens with our a half percent income tax increase."

The income tax increase was implemented three years ago.

The city will now start the bid process for the work.

Construction in some locations will start in July.
