Youngstown streets closing Thursday for Slavic Heritage Festival

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Some city streets will close beginning Thursday night as Downtown Youngstown prepares for the Simply Slavic Ethnic Heritage Festival.

The annual event includes folk dancing, street dancing children activities, and more. 

The event will start on Friday with "Party on the Plaza" which will feature Chardon Polka Band from 7-11 pm.

The event will continue on Saturday from Noon to Midnight with free admission for children up to age 12. 

For those planning on driving downtown from Thursday to Sunday should keep road closures in mind.

The following roads will be closed from Thursday, June 13 at 7 pm until Sunday, June 16 at noon:

  • East Federal between Market and Walnut N. Champion from East Federal to the YMCA Alley and South Champion Street from East Federal Street to Reality Parking Lot and Gateway Parking Deck.
