Domestic call leads to conflicting reports of gunfire in Hermitage

Posted: Updated:
HERMITAGE, Pa. -

Hermitage police are questioning witnesses who reported that shots were fired late Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Eric Jewell tells 21 News that the reports came in from a house in the 400 block of Clarksville Road around 10 am.

Jewell said the call was originally for a domestic disturbance, but that it quickly escalated to a report of shots fired.

When officers got to the house, people inside told police someone had shot at them from a vehicle.

Police were able to locate the vehicle in Sharon but determined the only shot fired came from inside the house when someone fired a weapon in the air.

A gun was found inside the house, but police are still trying to determine what the relationship between all of the people involved is.

So far, no one is facing any charges, but that could change once police can gather more information. Right now, Jewell said they are getting conflicting reports from the people involved.
