Youngstown Fire Dept. helps Potential Development students cool off

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The Youngstown Fire Department visited Potential Development Wednesday to help cool the kids off.

Firefighters hooked up their hoses and allowed students to have some fun with the water.

Students and staff splashed one another in the parking lot and played with inflatable pools.

"Today we're at the elementary school wrapping up the year," said Potential Development Executive Director Paul Garchar. "We had a great year here at the school, and we are letting the kids have some fun. We run an extended school year here, so they're here a little bit longer than their peers. This is a good way to wrap the year and have some fun."

Potential Development had an enrollment increase this year and recently added four more classrooms and a playground.
