YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Just days after being robbed, the Handel's Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt shop on Youngstown's South Side has been temporarily closed.

People looking for some sweet relief from the hottest weekend of the year will find windows of the store on Handel's Court covered up.

Signs posted outside the store reads as follows:

"For the safety of our customers and employees this location will be temporarily closed while we evaluate protective security measures. Thank you for understanding."

The closure comes after Saturday morning's armed robbery at the same location near Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard.

An employee told officers that two males pointed guns at her when she left the building to go to the bank and make a deposit.

According to the report, the men pushed inside the business and made the employee open the safe.

Police say the men took the money and put it inside of a gym bag before leaving.

The men also took an iPhone XS that was later located on the 3900 block of Helena Avenue.

Youngstown police have circulated surveillance images as they work to identify the suspects.

Authorities are urging anyone with any information to call Crimestoppers of Youngstown at 330-746-CLUE.
