 A 67-year-old Niles man was sentenced Wednesday for trying to solicit sex from an 11-year-old boy.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Wyatt McKay on Wednesday sentenced Neil Rossi to a total of 8 years in prison.

The Cardigan Street man pleaded guilty earlier to attempted importuning, two counts of gross sexual imposition, and attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

Rossi was indicted after a woman went to the police station claiming that her son had been victimized by Rossi this last summer.

Judge McKay also ordered that after Rossi completes his sentence, he must register his address as a Tier 2 sex offender for 25 years.
