WARREN, Ohio -

The appeal of a Warren man convicted of possession of cocaine and attempted tampering with evidence has been denied in court on Monday.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 50-year-old Deshawn Harvey was sentenced to a 12-month concurrent prison sentence on these charges. The Ohio 11th District Court of Appeals ruled on Monday that this sentence was within the law and Harvey's appeal was without merit.

"The trial court noted [Harvey's] prior prison sentences, his extensive criminal history, his prior failed attempts on community control sanctions, his numerous aliases, his multiple active warrants in several jurisdictions and lack of remorse," wrote 11th Distirct Judge Robert Patton.

Harvey is currently incarcerated in the Marion Correctional Insitution serving a three-year prison term for another drug conviction in Trumbull County.
