DECISION 2024: Vienna Township police levy fails

Posted: Updated:

The results are in and the Vienna Township police levy has failed.

According to the Trumbull County Board of Elections, the unofficial results are that the levy failed 668 to 479 with three of three precincts reporting.

The 3.5 mill, five year levy would be used to hire new officers and bring back two that were laid off following financial issues the township is facing.

A homeowner of a $100,000 home in Vienna would pay $123 a year. It would raise $327,000 annually.

Previously, the levy failed by 40 votes during last year's general election.
