A fire broke out Monday afternoon at a six-story apartment building in New Castle, PA., leaving one person dead.

The New Castle Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at Vista South apartments in the 1000 block of Mercer Street on Monday around 4 p.m.

The fire was in a 3rd-floor apartment, and 21 News is being told that the Lawrence County coroner was called to the scene.
