Attempted kidnapping suspect arrested in Columbiana County - WFMJ.com News weather sports for Youngstown-Warren Ohio

Police say they have arrested a suspect in Columbiana County for allegedly trying to kidnap an 11-year-old boy in Alliance.

Thirty-nine-year-old Joshua Freyermuth was picked up Sunday at a home along State Route 62 in Knox Township.

Freyermuth, who police say is also known as “Vicky”, is accused of trying to lure a boy away from his dog along South Web Avenue earlier that same day.

Police say Freyermuth tried to grab the child but was unsuccessful and ran away.

Freyermuth, who is in jail awaiting arraignment on a charge of attempted kidnapping, was also arrested Friday on drug charges after police say they found methamphetamine hidden in Freyermuth’s car.

The police report lists Freyermuth as homeless.
