Salem couple killed in head-on crash

A Salem couple died in a head-on crash in Columbiana County over the weekend.

Perry Township Police say a car driven by 24-year-old Kaylan Jones of Salem crossed the center line of Georgetown Road early Saturday and ran into an oncoming minivan south of West State Street.

Three people were taken to local hospitals by ambulance while a fourth patient was flown by medical helicopter.

Both drivers, including 63-year-old Valerie Donlon of Austintown, were injured. Two passengers in the minivan, 87-year-old Richard Hiner and 89-year-old Joanne Hiner died from their injuries.

Police say the crash is still under investigation.
