AP: Myles Garrett signs new deal with Browns, becomes highest paid non-QB in NFL history

CLEVELAND, Ohio -

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has signed a new deal with Cleveland, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, according to AP sources.

The Cleveland Browns posted on their website that Garrett's deal lasts four years, keeping him with the team through 2030.

According to ESPN, the contract extension includes $123.5 million guaranteed and averages $40 million per year.

The news of an extension came as a surprise after Garrett released a statement on February 3 requesting a trade.

Garrett is arguably one of the greatest players to suit up for the Browns. Since being drafted first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett has recorded 102.5 sacks - a Cleveland franchise record - while putting up double digit numbers in every season except his rookie year.

Garrett was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and is a four-time All-Pro selection and six-time Pro-Bowler.
