'Endangered missing adult' found safe by law enforcement

The Stark County Sheriff's Office for Stark County issued an endangered missing adult alert on Tuesday shortly before 2 p.m. 

As of 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Simon Curlutu Jr. has been found safe by law enforcement according to the alert cancellation notice that was sent out.

According to the information given as of June 3 at 1:41 p.m., law enforcement was looking for Simon Curlutu Jr. who walked away from his residence at 11:41 a.m. on June 3 and had not returned.

The incident took place in Stark County on Bailey Street NW in Massillon.

According to the alert, Curlutu has dementia, is hard of hearing and is blind in his left eye.

Curlutu was described in the alert as a 91-year-old white male, standing 4-feet-11-inches tall and weighing 123 pounds. He also was described to have grey hair and brown eyes.

Stark County Sheriff's Office issued the alert for the following counties:

  • Stark County
  • Carroll County
  • Columbiana County
  • Holmes County
  • Mahoning County
  • Portage County
  • Summit County
  • Tuscarawas County
  • Wayne County
