YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Meridian Healthcare is receiving $1 million from the Ohio Controlling Board for renovations.

According to the release, the grant allows Meridian Healthcare to extend its program space by more than 26,000 and to build an in-house pharmacy.

Meridian Healthcare is a non-profit that provides primary care, mental health and substance use services to the Valley.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Meridian HealthCare and for all the people they serve in the Mahoning Valley. Mental health, alcohol, and drug treatment can save lives. I am excited to see more services and more capacity to help adults, children, and families that are struggling with mental health and/or addiction," said Rep. McNally.

"Meridian is grateful to receive this funding," stated Larry Moliterno, President/CEO for Meridian. "These renovations will allow us to continue to provide patient-focused care to our community."
