Tommy Hale Jr.
WARREN A Warren man has started serving a three-month jail sentence after pleading to vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash.
Tommy L. Hale Jr., 70, entered the plea in Warren Municipal Court on Friday. He also received a three-year driver’s license suspension and was placed on probation for five years.
The charge stems from a June 2 traffic collision at Comstock Street NW and North Park Avenue. Authorities said Hale, driving a pickup truck, ran a stop sign and struck a motorcycle operated by John Obermiyer of Warren, just two weeks before his 56th birthday. Obermiyer was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Hale was taken to jail Friday following his court appearance.
