Wellsville Man Arraigned For Wife's Murder

The Wellsville man charged with the murder of his wife faces a judge. Jack Amato Jr. remains free on bond after being arraigned in Columbiana County Court. Amato is accused of shooting his wife Tonia between the eyes last summer.  He claims she shot at him first. Special prosecutor Lynn Grimshaw from Scioto County had to be brought in for the case because the Columbiana County prosecutor excused himself because of a conflict of interest. Grimshaw says although he's at a disadvantage being 5 hours away it won't effect the quality of the prosecution. Amato is charged with murder. He's facing 18 years to life in prison. His trial is set to begin September 16th.
