Ribbon cutting for new Purple Cat location

A creative day program for special needs clients has a new location.

The Purple Cat held a ribbon cutting Thursday morning for its new location on McCartney Road in Coitsville.

Following the ceremony, the facility hosted a meet and greet for the public.

The new location has a seven-acre fishing lake, an arts and crafts barn and a new pavilion.

A spokesman said the farm will allow the Purple Cat to continue to offer services aimed at teaching daily skills and independence, as well as expanding to include things such as agriculture, fishing, animal care and nature.
