Nearly 2,000 Delphi workers qualify for assistance in learning new skills and landing new jobs from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Congressman Tim Ryan announced Monday that workers from Delphi Packard Electric Ohio Operations in Warren, Vienna, Rootstown, Howland and Cortland are eligible for the assistance.
"I'm proud that my efforts lobbying the Obama administration and the efforts of local workers have paid off. These TAA benefits will help ensure that former Delphi employees receive the training and job placement assisstance necessary for their success," Ryan said.
Trade Adjustment Assistance is available to those who have lost their jobs due to changes in their industry such as increased imports leading to less domestic production.
