AUSTINTOWN, Ohio- Employees at an Infocision in Austintown have raised more than $20,000 for a co-worker who needs an expensive surgery.
Ed Port needs surgery to remove a tumor caused by a condition called neurofibromatosis.
The tumor, while benign, is intrusive.
Infocision employees raised money for Port by holding a company-wide "Jeans Day" fundraiser, with the company agreeing to match the amount raised.
Employees also donated 1,400 hours of paid time off for Port to use when recovering from surgery.
Port said a doctor has told him the five surgeries that would be necessary would cost approximately $1 million.
So far, he has raised about $60,000.
