YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- A Youngstown charter school is reassuring parents about its future, in light of a state law requiring it to close at the end of the school year.
Eagle Heights Academy held a meeting Tuesday morning to clear up any misconceptions the public may have about the school's situation.
The state ordered the school to close at the end of the year after it ranked in academic emergency for two years in a row.
The administration said there is an effort by another school board to establish a new charter school in place of Eagle Heights for next year and that enrollment is underway for 2010-2011.
A flyer was distributed telling parents their children are safe and that the school is still moving forward.
"We know that you have heard differing stories regarding our status at Eagle Heights Academy. Please know that the statements above are ACCURATE," the flyer states.
Details about the 2010-2011 school year are expected by mid-May.
