NILES, Ohio- Two people, including one juvenile, were arrested in Niles on Tuesday after a search of a Hartzell Avenue house uncovered hallucinogenic mushrooms and an apparent marijuana-growing operation.
The Niles police department conducted the raid, along with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and T.A.G. after a year-long investigation.
Edward Kitt, 20, was charged with three felony counts of trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a schedule I drug and possessing a schedule I drug in amounts over five times bulk.
All of the charges allegedly took place within 1,000 feet of Washington Elementary school.
A 16-year-old female was also arrested and charged with possessing a schedule I drug in amounts greater than five times bulk.
She was taken to Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center.
Additional charges are expected to be filed.
