SALEM, Ohio - Neighbors are saying they heard an explosion just before a house caught fire in Salem.

Fire crews were called to a house in the 800 block of East Fourth Street on Thursday afternoon.

Fire investigators say the sides of the home were bulging outward, showing evidence that there was an explosion.

The home is vacant and may have been up for sale.

Crews have turned off gas and electricity to the home and are dousing neighboring homes to keep them from catching fire.
