Trumbull board of elections to meet Wednesday on Traficant signatures
MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - The Trumbull county board of elections will meet Wednesday to vote on final approval of signatures submitted by former Congressman Jim Traficant in his quest to appear on the November ballot.
The Mahoning county board of elections met Monday evening where they voted to approve 31 additional signatures, putting him above the number needed to appear on the ballot.
Final approval of the signatures has to come from the Trumbull county board of elections.
They will meet at 1:30 p.m., at the request of Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.
Traficant is hoping to run for Congress as an independent in the 17th district.
