UPDATED: Workers injured in Damascus accident

DAMASCUS, Ohio - One Mahoning County employee remains in the hospital and 2 others have been treated and released following a work-site accident.  It happened on Pleasant Street, off Route 62 in Damascus.

A spokesman for the county's Sanitary Engineering Department says a crew was doing routine maintenance on the collection system when an incident occurred with the equipment. One worker was life-flighted from the scene and two others were taken away by ambulance.

The sanitary department is still working to piece together all of the details. The victims are not being identified at this point
