TOLEDO, Ohio - A convicted rapist from the Valley is up for parole, but Trumbull County's prosecutor wants to make sure the man stays behind bars.
Fifty-four-year old Marlon Chattman has been serving time at the Toledo Correctional Institution for the 1990 rape of an 18-year-old girl who he abducted at knife point in the parking lot of a Liberty Township pharmacy.
Prosecutor Dennis Watkins has sent a request to the State Parole Board saying that Chattman should serve the maximum sentence which runs until 2040.
Chattman has a history of committing acts of violence prior to the 1990 offense.
