Suspect charged in murder of 16-year-old Chaney High student

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Bond is set at $500,000.00 cash for 18-year-old Curtis Jones, Jr. Jones is charged with murder in Saturday's shooting death of 16-year-old Chaney High School student Devail Fleeton.

Witnesses say Fleeton was chased by five people on Youngstown's east side, and then fatally shot in the back.

The suspect's mother is adamant her son is not the killer. "My son wouldn't have did this. I feel sorry for that little boy, because he's young and he passed. But they got the wrong person," said Kiki Graham, the suspects mother.

Youngstown Police Chief Jimmy Hughes tells 21 News there quite possible could be additional arrests in the case. He said that detectives have also issued a murder warrant for 18-year-old DeVante Gilmore.
