AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - A fire at a transformer station carrying about 70-thousand volts of electricity caused a temporary power outage across Austintown Township on Sunday.
The power was back on to residents within minutes and was caused by problems with a transformer station that supplies power to Roth Brothers. The company on Crum Road provides heating and cooling services, roofing and construction.
You could hear the power lines sparking until Ohio Edison turned off the power. They conduct about 70-thousand volts.
Fire fighters checked the inside and the roof of the building for any damage. They found two breakers burning on the outside of the building.
Some smoke did get inside the Roth Brothers building. The fire department says no one was injured.
