LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pennsylvania - Rescue crews from all over Lawrence County are searching Slippery Rock Creek and its surrounding areas for a missing fisherman.
Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle say 38-year old John Paul Latulippe was fishing near the McConnell's Mills Bridge around 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, when he fell into the water.
The park manager says someone tried to throw a safety ring to Latulippe, but was unsuccessful.
The state police helicopter, dive teams and fire companies have been searching for the fisherman all day. "We have crews set up and different fire companies from Lawrence County set up on all the bridges. Just downstream from McConnell's Mill is Eckert Bridge, the next bridge down is Harris and then Armstrong. We have crews set up and nets set up on all those bridges downstream," said Dan Bickel, Manager McConnell's Mill Parks.
John Latulippe is a white male with blonde/grey hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle at 724-598-2211.
