SALEM, Ohio - Rain was apparently a factor in a wreck during a race as Quaker City Motorsports Park launched its big auto racing weekend.
A member of the 21 News Street Team emailed a couple of pictures of the wrecked racer to us. He says the car lost control, hit the wall, and rolled over several times after rain cut traction on the racing surface.
The driver was taken away in an ambulance. There's no word on his condition or identity.
Up until the accident, the evening was going smoothly, with eager motorists taking turns in the Test and Tune Run as well as a Gamblers Race.
The park reopened last Saturday under new ownership with Norm Fox and has undergone much renovation.
