POLAND, Ohio - Just three days after his conviction on child pornography charges, a Poland man is asking that his conviction be thrown out.
On Monday, a jury in federal court convicted Trent Shepard of four counts of receiving visual depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct.
Claiming that the statute of limitations had run out on the crimes, Shepard's attorney wants an acquittal or new trial.
The defense attorney is also asking the court to keep Shepard out of jail until his sentencing in November.
