UPDATED: Cows die, driver cited in I-80 crash

HUBBARD, Ohio- An early morning tractor trailer accident shut down a portion of  I-80 eastbound west of US 62 Monday.

Police say a semi truck carrying several cows overturned on the roadway shortly after 4 a.m.

The driver of the truck, Jimmy R. King, 42, of Botkins, Ohio suffered very minor injuries in the crash after he told police the load of cows shifted inside the trailer, causing him to lose control. Several of the cows died in the crash.

The road was blocked for about two and a half hours.

King was cited for failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
