Ellwood City teen hit by a car

ELLWOOD CITY, Pennsylvania - A 14-year-old boy is hospitalized after he was struck by a hit and run driver.

It happened late Wednesday afternoon in Ellwood City.

According to police, 14-year old Sam Toman was walking on Third Street, in the middle of the road, when he was hit from behind.

Police believe he was also dragged a little bit. He then walked to a friend's house where he got help.

"We learned that it was possibly an early model brown to tan Pontiac Grand AM, four door, white male driver, 25-30" said Ellwood City Officer Zadock Dismuke.

Ellwood City police are checking with businesses in the area to see if any of the incident was caught on their surveillance cameras.
