LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio - LaBrae High School students are launching a new political awareness club called S.W.A.V.E., which stands for Students With a Voice in Education.
On Monday, two sophomores met with the school administration and Congressman Tim Ryan to discuss issues facing students and educators. They also talked about state mandated testing and possible budget cuts to school districts.
"It's affecting us and we just want our opinion to be out there so they understand what we have to say and what we're thinking," said Amber Davidson.
The club hopes to hold a forum on education issues with state legislators in the new year.
