YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mill Creek MetroParks officials say it will be spring before they re-install a stolen statue that was recovered on Wednesday.
A scrap dealer led police to the bronze sculpture of a kneeling girl which was taken from Fellows Riverside Garden.
Park police are looking for ways to improve security for the statue.
"There are cameras throughout the Davis Center. So putting a camera out here is a definite possibility," said Mill Creek MetroParks Police Chief Jim Willock.
"The sculpture will go back in place. We need to reattach a couple of the anchor pins and secure it again," said Keith Kaiser from The Davis Center at Mill Creek MetroParks.
Twenty-year-old Braylon Hunter is accused of selling the 12 thousand dollar statue to the scrap yard for $89. He has been charged with receiving stolen property.
