YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - There's a new candidate running for Mahoning County sheriff.
On Monday, Poland Township Police Chief Brian Goodin filed paperwork to enter the race.
Goodin says there are two major things he'd like to change in the county if he's elected. "First of all, we have to get back to running a full service jail. We have the room there. It's being vacated because we don't have enough people to put in there to operate that," said Goodin. "Second of all, we have to offer saturation patrols in the high crime areas throughout the county."
Goodin has 28 years of experience in law enforcement.
