Snow blamed for Ohio lottery ticketing glitch

CLEVELAND (AP) - Snow is blamed for difficulties encountered by some Mega Millions lottery players in northeast Ohio wanting a shot at a $206 million jackpot.

The Ohio Lottery says ticket machines experienced scattered outages in the region on Tuesday, ahead of the big drawing.

Lottery spokeswoman Sandy Lesko Mounts tells WJW-TV the problems resulted from snow that piled up on satellite dishes and affected signals.

The television station reported that some people waited several hours to buy tickets at a service station they said was lucky in Brook Park, near Cleveland.

The National Weather Service says the area received up to 3 inches of snow.

The lottery says a ticket sold in New York had all the numbers to take the jackpot.
