Dana Lantz named new Youngstown City Prosecutor

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – On Thursday afternoon Youngstown Mayor Chuck Sammarone named Attorney Dana Lantz the city's new chief prosecutor.

Ms. Lantz will take office on Monday morning replacing Jay Macejko who was terminated by the mayor on Thursday.

Lantz has been employed by the city for 14 years. She began her career with Youngstown in 1998 working under former Law Director Bob Bush.

Three-and-a-half years later, she moved over to the city prosecutor's office until September of 2011. At that time she was promoted to 1st Assistant Law Director and Housing Prosecutor.

Lantz says she intends to immediately focus on increasing code enforcement, and addressing quality of life issues in the city of Youngstown. She has already been working with Youngstown Police Chief Rod Foley on those issues.

Lantz says she'll also be discussing some personnel issues with Mayor Sammarone as she prepares to take office on Monday.
