YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ronald McDonald House Charity has made a donation to the Rich Center for Autism.
Board members accepted the $5,000 gift. The money will be used to help offset the cost of some of the center's programs.
The Rich Center for Autism's Chairperson, Phyllis Ricchiuti, said she was thrilled the Ronald McDonald House Charity recognized the center for its work with children who have autism spectrum disorders.
"We don't charge tuition, so gifts like this mean so much to us because it helps us to initiate programs that we wouldn't be able to afford and this is going toward our summer teen program," Ricchiuti said.
Employees at the center say summer is a prime time to expose children with autism to new activities.
